What brings you here

Work on what keeps coming between you.

Even families who care deeply about each other can get caught in the same conflicts. Family therapy gives you a structured place to hear different perspectives and work on how you relate to one another.

  • Conflict & communication

Repeated arguments, misunderstandings, and conversations that leave people feeling unheard.

  • Parenting & caregiver stress

Disagreements about boundaries, discipline, responsibilities, or how to support a child.

  • Sibling & family relationships

Tension between siblings or patterns affecting how family members connect.

  • Changes at home

Divorce, blended families, relocation, new siblings, and adjusting to different roles.

  • Culture & generations

Different expectations, family traditions, and the experiences each person brings.

  • Grief & emotional stress

Loss, difficult emotions, and behavioral concerns that affect the whole family.

What to expect

Understand each other. Change the patterns.

Your therapist helps your family slow down, identify shared goals, and practice ways of communicating that make more room for each person’s experience.

  1. 01

    Start with your family’s concerns.

Talk about what is happening now, where you feel stuck, and what each person hopes can be different.

  2. 02

    Look at the patterns together.

Explore how family members respond to each other, including the habits that can keep conflict going.

  3. 03

    Try practical changes at home.

Practice communication, emotional regulation, and ways to respond with more understanding between sessions.

Our approach. Our clinicians draw on family systems, attachment work, Gottman-informed tools, and strengths-based approaches. Your therapist will help identify what fits your family’s needs and goals.

A few common questions

Before you begin.

Are family counseling and family therapy different?

At Social House, these terms describe the same service. You do not need to choose between them. Tell us what your family needs support with.

Does everyone need to attend?

Contact our team before booking to discuss who you hope to include. Your clinician can help determine who should attend and how to structure sessions around your family’s concerns.

Can you help with concerns involving a child or teen?

We support families with parenting, communication, and emotional or behavioral concerns. Tell us your child’s age and what has been happening. We can discuss family therapy and other available services, including teen counseling or play therapy.

Can our family meet online?

Yes. Online family therapy is available in Texas. Ask our team about arrangements for the family members who would participate and whether the format fits your needs.
