LPC supervision is an advancement opportunity for counselors to earn a minimum of 3000 hours of experience over roughly 18 months under the supervision of a board-approved LPC Supervisor. Supervision varies by program but universally shares the mission of building an ongoing, reflective, and collaborative relationship that allows all parties involved to grow and benefit professionally. Supervision uses particular experiences, skillsets, and tools to promote collective growth and career development.

Our supervision program takes what you’ve learned in the classroom and applies it through training and teachings from a hands-on supervisor.
The SHWC uses the developmental model approach, which organically evolves and progresses as supervisees show they are ready. The program advances and adjusts as supervisees gain confidence and show particular skillsets while the supervisor tailors each developmental stage to match progress, capability, and professional growth.

Our supervisor brings over 14 years of experience working in private practice, substance abuse outpatient programs, mobile crisis intervention centers, education centers, and probation and court services. Focusing on cognitive behavioral therapy, choice theory and reality therapy, Adlerian therapy, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) as theoretical backgrounds, SHWC is eager to support your career advancement with your particular needs in mind.
