Young Adult Life Transitions Group in Katy, TX

Figuring Out What’s Next

Enrollment is open for a weekly young-adult therapy group focused on change, uncertainty, relationships, and early adulthood. Sessions are 90 minutes and $35 per session. The group meets Tuesday evenings and is led by Adam Rahman, LPC-S. The start date and exact time will be confirmed before the group begins.

There’s a lot you’re supposed to figure out in your late teens and twenties. Work. School. Relationships. Money. Family. Independence. Who you are and what you actually want your life to look like.

And sometimes it seems like everyone else has it figured out.

Figuring Out What’s Next is a therapist-led group within our group therapy program for young adults who want a place to talk honestly about this stage of life with other people going through it too.

You don’t have to be in crisis. You don’t have to know exactly what you need help with. You may simply know that life is changing and you’re trying to find your footing.

This stage of life can feel weird.

You’re old enough that people expect you to make adult decisions, but that doesn’t mean you automatically know what you’re doing.

Maybe you’re trying to choose a career. Maybe you finished school and thought you would feel more settled by now. Your friendships may be changing. Dating can be confusing. Family relationships can look different once you start becoming more independent.

Sometimes the hardest part is looking around and feeling like everyone else is moving forward while you’re still trying to figure out what you want.

This group gives you a place to talk about those things without having to pretend you have everything together.

This group may be a good fit if...

What is the group actually like?

This isn’t a class where you sit through a presentation every week.

The group will have some structure, but most of the time will be spent talking, processing what is happening in your life, hearing different perspectives, and connecting with other young adults.

You also don’t need to be going through the exact same transition as everyone else. One person may be trying to figure out a career while someone else is dealing with a breakup, loneliness, family pressure, or a major change in identity.

The details may be different, but a lot of the feelings underneath them are surprisingly similar.

FAQs

Do I need to already be in individual therapy?

No. You do not have to be a current Social House client or already be in individual therapy to participate.

That’s very normal. You won’t be expected to walk in on the first day and immediately share everything about yourself. Part of the group process is becoming more comfortable over time.

No. There may be occasional exercises or topics introduced by the therapist, but this is primarily a therapy/process group. The conversation and experiences of the members will help shape each meeting.

That’s okay. Members do not need to be experiencing the exact same life transition. The group is designed around the broader experience of navigating early adulthood, change, relationships, identity, independence, and uncertainty.

Confidentiality is an important part of group therapy. The therapist will review confidentiality and group expectations before the group begins, and members will be expected to respect the privacy of other participants. As with any therapy service, there are certain legal and ethical limits to confidentiality that will also be reviewed.

The initial group is being offered at a set group rate of $35 per session. Please contact Social House Wellness if you have questions about payment or insurance.

The group meets weekly for 90 minutes and has an open format. Consistent participation helps trust and connection build over time. Our team will discuss participation expectations with you during enrollment.

Our team will reach out with the final schedule and additional information. We may also schedule a brief screening conversation before confirming your spot in the group.
