EMDR therapy in Katy, TX.
For experiences that still feel close, even when they happened a long time ago. Start with a conversation about what you’re looking for.

What brings you here
Some experiences stay with us.
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a structured therapy approach for working with distressing experiences. A clinician can help you explore whether it fits your concerns and goals.
Difficult memories
Experiences that still bring up distress when they come to mind.
Familiar reactions
Emotional or physical responses that feel hard to shift, even when you understand them.
Beliefs about yourself
The meaning you have taken from past experiences and how it affects you now.
What to expect
Preparation comes first.
EMDR follows an eight-phase treatment process. The overview below gives you a sense of the work; your therapist will explain the details and discuss readiness with you.
- 01
Talk and prepare.
Discuss your history, goals, and ways to manage distress before beginning memory processing.
- 02
Work with a memory.
When appropriate, your therapist guides sets of side-to-side eye movements, sounds, or taps while you notice thoughts, feelings, and sensations.
- 03
Close and review.
Sessions include closure, and later visits review your response and what needs further attention. You can ask to pause at any point.
Our approach. The pace and length of treatment depend on your needs. You do not have to choose EMDR before reaching out. Read more about the EMDR process from EMDRIA.

A few common questions
Before you begin.
Do I need a PTSD diagnosis to ask about EMDR?
No. You can ask a clinician whether EMDR may fit your concerns without having a PTSD diagnosis. Your clinician will assess your needs and discuss appropriate options.
Will we start with difficult memories right away?
EMDR includes history-taking, treatment planning, and preparation before memory processing. Your therapist will discuss readiness and ways to manage distress with you.
Is a group currently open?
Contact our team for current group availability. We will share dates and details when a group is scheduled and help you explore whether the format is suitable.
How do I find out about cost or insurance?
Ask our team about the rate and payment options for the appointment or group you are considering. Insurance participation and benefits depend on your clinician, plan, and service.
